The bitcoin encounters serious difficulties, falls below 7000 dollars (2)

The risk-management team of the exchange immediately contacted the client, with the requirement to partially close the position to reduce the risks. The client, however, refused to cooperate, which triggered the decision to freeze client assets. Shortly thereafter, however, unfortunately the cost of the bitcoin dropped, which led to the liquidation of the account, the stock exchange said.
The stock exchange said they would redirect 2,500 bitcoins worth $18 million at current prices in an insurance fund to reduce the risk of such cases.
From OKEx, where their customers first agree to stock market conditions before they trade, they said they intend to make changes to their margin requirements after this.
The exchange, which is ranked 2nd amongst cryptocurrencies stock exchanges, against a commission, allows its clients to leverage 20 times the amount of their funds.
On Friday, the bitcoin, the biggest cryptocurrency, lost 2.2% of its value to a level of $7,383, bringing its weekly loss to 10%. Since the beginning of the year, the bitcoin has lost 48% of its value.

The bitcoin encounters serious difficulties, falls below 7000 dollars (1)

A massive bad bet on bitcoin futures has led to a trader not being able to cover his long-term losses on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. And that points to everything wrong with the trading of futures on cryptocurrencies, which many experts fear.
In a statement by the exchange on Friday, it is clear that the trader's stake is worth $416 million. The exchange liquidated the position on Tuesday but failed to collect the amounts due from the trader in the price drop. Because of the case and social rules, the stock exchange will force traders with unrealized gains to lose 18% of them.
The stock exchange said only that the troubled position was opened on July 31 at 2am.
This case comes to remind traders and investors of the risks associated with trading in unregulated or poorly regulated markets. Such cases are almost impossible to become a reality on regulated markets on which stocks and bonds are traded.
Cryptographic platforms are subject to hacker attacks, market manipulations, and more. Their weak regulation is largely the basis of the ability to manipulate the cost of the bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies.

The bitcoin at $20,000 by the end of the year?

After the bed start for the bitcoin for the past week and falling momentarily below the 8,000-dollar psychological limit, the cryptocurrency started the new week with growth.
The bitcoin rose momentarily over $8,500 for a coin yesterday. After reaching the highest level of $8,575, the cryptocurrency went back below $8,400. Late last night the bitcoin was exchanged at $8,370.
However, according to many experts, not everything is lost to the bitcoin. Yes, it may not be able to overcome the $10,000 psychological limit and go back down, but we will hardly see $6,000 again, analysts say.
There are also some very optimistic experts about the future of the cryptocurrency.
For example, according to Rodrigo Marquez, CEO of Atlas Quantum, one of the Brazilian cryptocurrency trading platforms, a drop below $8,000 for the bitcoin can be identified as a finding of the bottom. He expects the bitcoin to go up and reach the psychological limit of $20,000 in six months. This is the highest value for the bitcoin in history reached in December of last year.
Apparently the expert expects a repeat of the scenario from last year and a strong rally in the last months of this year.

Trump failed the cryptomarkets

Major cryptocurrencies on Wednesday are falling in price, as world markets are in turmoil after US President Donald Trump broke off a nuclear deal with Iran. At the same time, after a significant collapse on Tuesday evening, on Wednesday, the rate of decline of the cryptocurrencies has slowed somewhat and, probably, in the short term it will be already on such significant levels.
The bitcoin rate declined 0.13% overnight, to $9,112 with a capitalization of $155.7 billion. The rate of Litecoin was weakened by 3.25% to 154.6 dollars with capitalization $8.7 billion. Ethereum at the same time dropped by 1.16% to $725.8, its capitalization is $72.4 billion. The rate of Ripple fell by 2.5% overnight, to $0.78 with a capitalization of $30.6 billion. The total market capitalization of the cryptocurrencies reached 422.3 billion dollars.

The bitcoin received a rising impulse from the IMF

The largest digital currency in the world - the bitcoin, received some support from the International Monetary Fund and rose above the psychological limit of $ 8,000 on Tuesday.
The cost of the bitcoin rose 1.3 percent to $8,109, with its lowest daily value at $7,972.55 per coin.
Surprising support came not by anyone, but by IMF chief Christine Lagarde. She said late on Monday that the IMF sees the positive influence of the bitcoin and blockchain technology.
This was, to a large extent, a surprise, given Lagard's previous comments on the bitcoin.
In fact, Lagarde is quite inconsistent in its position with regard to the cryptocurrencies.
Global digital currency may be a future option for the IMF. This was stated by the head of the fund, Christine Lagarde, during the forum organized by the English Central Bank last October. Lagarde hinted at the development of the cryptocurrency, which would be used for special rights issued by the IMF.
These currencies can displace the reserve currencies used by the Fund.
The IMF has already begun exploring the possibilities of creating its own cryptocurrency with external consultants. Lagarde commented that replacing current reserve currencies with IMF's own cryptocurrency is not so much a far-fetched opportunity.
The IMF cryptocurrency may seriously endanger the domination of major reserve currencies, market forecasters predict.
According to experts, the creation of such a cryptocurrency could be backed by countries like China who would like to reduce the impact of the US currency as a reserve one.

Crypto currencies: perspectives and risks (3)

Almost all well-known investors, including Warren Buffett and George Soros, and global investment companies, including JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS), Goldman Sachs, spoke about the prospects of bitcoin. In general, the attitude of classical investors to cryptocurrencies is cautious - many call the crypto-market a "bubble" and wait for its fall. In bitcoin and the prospects of blockchain technologies, a new wave of young investors believe, mainly. The number of medium and large investors in bitcoin is only a few million. In the future, the "pool" of investors in bitcoin should grow (and with it the cost of bitcoin), but so far this jump has not occurred. It is possible, in a few years, bitcoin will change its status in the eyes of people - it will not be an asset (a means of investing funds), but a means of payment.

Crypto currencies: perspectives and risks (2)

Another problem for bitcoin - scalability. At the end of last year, due to this, the time and cost of transactions using bitcoin increased. If the bitcoin community resolves this problem, it will be a positive for the bitcoin rate.
Quite possible scenario is that the world will come up with a new digital currency that will solve all the problems of its predecessors and take a place under the sun among the cryptocurrencies. This will try to swing the crypto currency Gram, which is associated with the personality of Pavel Durov. It is planned that Gram will be given a guarantee of making payments and solved the problem of lack of space for storing all records. If this is implemented, the system will be able to process a million transactions a second, and commissions will be low - a real breakthrough in the financial world. ICO Gram is scheduled for the coming months.

Crypto currencies: perspectives and risks (1)

After increased volatility last year, in recent months the bitcoin rate has stabilized in the $8000- $11000 range. In February-March the amplitude of fluctuations decreased - at the current moment bitcoin found a stable level in the $9000 area. Stabilization in the crypto-currency market may last several months, but then the exit from the "outset" with a sharp rise up or down is inevitable anyway. Where goes bitcoin - up or down - will largely depend on the position of the world authorities in relation to the cryptocurrency.
Since the end of last year, we have seen how the Chinese and US regulators tried to introduce some regulation in the sphere of crypto-trade. Their example was followed by other countries. In particular, we recall that the US exchanges introduced verification of all users, after which investors began to prefer Asian crypto-exchanges. Because of anonymity and decentralization, it seems impossible to completely drive crypto-world into a rigid regulated framework. The authorities have a choice: either follow the path of tightening regulation, or lead that which can not be defeated. Exactly how the comma in the sentence "To prohibit can not be resolved" will be put, the dynamics of bitcoin this year will depend.

$800 for 1 hour and 24% for two weeks - the bitcoin reminded of itself

The cost of a bitcoin reminded investors how volatile it could be. Yesterday, the bitcoin lost $800 for an hour, momentarily reaching $9,000 a coin. Subsequently, the bitcoin recovered some of the lost, returning to levels of 9,300 dollars.
According to CoinDesk, the cost of the bitcoin fell to the lowest value of $9,075 before it recovered.
The yesterday's depreciation in price was exceptional as the cryptocurrency was traded at about $10,000 earlier.
In addition, it happened on a day after the fall of $1,000. Or, the investors were reminded of a very painful way, how volatile the price of cryptocurrency might be.
However, the decline in the bitcoin has not been limited to the last two days. The cryptocurrency continued its way down and was trading this morning at $8,700 a coin. Thus, from the beginning of the week, the largest digital coin lost 24% of its value.
According to market observers, the depreciation of the bitcoin on Wednesday was predetermined by several factors. First of all, the news that $400m worth of bitcoins were liquidated by a representative of the failed Mt Gox stock market, which has flooded the cryptocurrency markets.
However, it is much less clear what caused yesterday's $900 depreciation, in a very short period of time.
More and more analysts are predicting a further depreciation to $7,000.

The ether is on its way to $700

The cryptocurrencies restored their fall with full force after the bitcoin fell back below the psychological limit of $10,000.
As Jeffrey Gundlach says, if you want to look for the direction of the US indices, turn to the bitcoin. And what happens in the bitcoin is definitely not good for the US indexes.
The latter declined after the news that Trump's economic advisor resigned and raised the fears of cruel trade wars.
Yesterday the ethereum fell by more than 7% and traded at levels of 740 dollars per coin. Tech analysts, who think we are going to see a test at the $700 psychological limit for a coin, are becoming more and more.
The strong recovery of the ethereum from last month lost its energy at the highest value of $982 for a coin on February 18th. Since then, the cryptocurrency has lost 19% of its value.
According to technical analysts, however, the bad news about the ethereum may not end here. It is quite possible to see a test of psychological support at 670 dollars per coin.
The decline of the ethereum was largely determined by the depreciation of the bitcoin. The latter did not overcome the $12,000 psychological limit, after two attempts, and pushed down strongly.
Now, the cryptocurrencies traders still have to hope that the bitcoin will not be reduced to less than $9,300 to keep the potential flag figure. Otherwise, we may witness further severe impairment, with the bottom at $7,000.

The bitcoin grew by nearly 1,000 dollars yesterday

The bitcoin grew seriously yesterday, adding nearly $1,000 to its value, or around 10%. Early this morning the cryptocurrency was traded at levels of about $10,250.
The greater interest of Japanese investors has to a large extent predetermined the appreciation of the cryptocurrency, according to market observers.
Technical analysts, however, say that the bitcoin should keep its price over $10,200 in order to talk about the potential for its further appreciation.
The other major cryptocurrency - ethereum, were traded at 873 dollars and the ripple - at nearly 93 US cents.
Near the moment of the rallying of the bitcoin, the Circle crypto exchange announced that it had lost another Poloniex stock exchange. The transaction price was not named.
Otherwise, Poloniex is the seventh largest by volume in US dollars cryptocurrency exchange, according to CryptoCompare.
Trading of bitcoin in yen was more active, accounting for about 51% of the total volume, according to CryptoCompare. Trading in dollars was 22% of the total volume.

The bitcoin is yesterday's news?

The cryptocurrencies absolutely stole the show in the past year. From the beginning of last year to the end, market capitalization of digital currencies increased by more than 3,300% or nearly $600 billion. This may turn into the largest increase in the capitalization of an asset, within 12 months.
And while there were many factors that predetermined this increase in capitalization, the root of the rise of cryptocurrencies was largely the bitcoin.
The largest cryptocurrency then played a major role in the digital money world. Even today, the bitcoin has the largest market capitalization, but its dominance has fallen seriously.
Although the bitcoin is estimated at $190 billion, it occupies about 40% of the total market capitalization of virtual currencies.
For comparison a year ago, its dominance was serious with over 80% of the total market capitalization. How fast, though, things change!
For the period between 2013 and March 2017, the market share of the bitcoin from the total capitalization ranged between 74 and 96%. Over the last three months, however, BTC's market cap is less than 40% of the total.
Meanwhile, other cryptocurrencies, such as ethereum and ripple, have seriously increased their share of total market capitalization.
The problem is that new and better cryptocurrencies are created to perform the basic function that the bitcoin was conceived - faster and cheaper financial transactions without the need for third-party mediation.

US lawmakers think about regulating the market of cryptocurrencies (2)

American legislators are concerned about speculative trading and investments in cryptocurrencies. Some of them call for the regulation of digital assets as securities, as a result of which investors in cryptocurrencies will also be protected by the SEC.
Virtual currencies have existed for a long time, but recently the scale of speculation with cryptocurrencies sharply increased, as well as the number of fraudulent schemes that promise investors an income of more than 1,000 percent in a few weeks.
In the period of volatility in financial markets, hackers also intensified in this sphere. In January, they stole a digital currency worth $530 million from the Japanese crypto-exchange Coincheck.
Bitcoin, the most famous virtual currency, in early 2018 has fallen in price more than twice after takeoff by more than 1.300 percent.
Regulators around the world began to sound the alarm, saying that the cryptocurrencies simplify money laundering and the financing of terrorist organizations, harm consumers and undermine confidence in the global financial system.

US lawmakers think about regulating the market of cryptocurrencies (1)

The US authorities, alarmed by the global riot around bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, are preparing to consider new rules, the introduction of which will lead to tightening of federal control over this emerging class of assets, several lawmakers told Reuters.
Among members of both leading US parties in the Senate and the House of Representatives, there is an increasing desire to start fighting against the risks that cryptocurrencies represent for investors and the financial system, lawmakers said.
Even conservative Republicans advocating for a free market said that the need for regulation may arise if the cryptocurrencies begin to threaten the US economy.
There is no doubt that there is a need for a regulatory framework, according to Republican Senator Mike Rounds, a member of the Senate Banking Committee.
At the moment, digital assets are located in the so-called gray zone of the legal field, in various situations falling under the regulation of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the US Treasury, the Federal Reserve or the state authorities.

The bitcoin lost $72 billion in 2018

The bitcoin continues to be the largest crypto currency by market-capitalization, but its domination is seriously threatened after the recent price collapse. Only last week the bitcoin lost more than $1,000 of its value, dropping at levels of less than $9,000 per coin.
In fact, the bitcoin breached the key support level of $9,150, which may trigger further downsizing of the currency.
The next key level of support is $7,600, where there is the 61.8 percent fibonacci correction of the March increase last year to over $19,500.
If the last level drops, then we can see a further decline in the currency to the 50-day moving average, which is at $5,300.
The market capitalization of the bitcoin is at a level of $ 150 billion, which is 33.6% of the total market capitalization of all cryptocurrencies. The latter is at a level of $456 billion, or about half of its peak, at over $850 billion.
Not only does the bitcoin record serious losses. The ripple returned to trading levels below $1.
However, the ethereum remains the least affected by the sale. The cryptocurrency continues to trade over $1,000 per coin, or just 20% below its historically highest value. By comparison, the ripple lost over 70% of its top, and the bitcoin over 50%.

The bitcoin drops by 12%, returns below $10,000

The sales of the world's financial markets have shifted to the bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies. The largest and most popular one lost 12% of its value to a level of $9,800 this morning. So the bitcoin went back below the $10,000 psychological limit for a bottom test at $9,300.
Increasingly, the skeptics and technical analysts are warning that the fallback of the bitcoin may continue to take full effect if its bottom at $9,300 is overcome.
Of course, there are also those who believe that the current levels of the bitcoin are suitable for the purchase of the cryptocurrency, with a potential rise for the test of the top at nearly $19,500.
Bitcoin sales were also transferred to other cryptocurrencies. Decline was also noted in ethereum, ripple, and lightcoin.
The ripple, once again returned to the $1 psychological limit, as early this morning was traded at $1.06.
Ethereum lost nearly 10% of its value to be exchanged at $1,055. However, it lost only about 20% of its top, against a loss of bitcoin of over 50%.
The most losing among the major currencies is the ripple, which has fallen by more than 70% from its record highs at the end of last year.

The bitcoin may fall by 90%

Cryptocurrencies launched the first day of the week "on a lame leg," after regulatory concerns continued to harass investors. Over the weekend, some of the largest Indian banks, including the State Bank of India, have stopped serving accounts, connected with crypto-exchanges, according to the Economic Times of India.
This is coupled with concerns about serious regulation coming from South Korea, where the government may introduce a law banning the trading of virtual currencies on local exchanges.
After its decline on Monday, the bitcoin fell below $10,500, or a decline of 8.5%, and the price of the ethereum was back below $1,000. With its downgrade, the bitcoin returned below its 100-day moving average, at $10,990.
According to technical analysts, closing the bitcoin below the specified level may open the cryptocurrency path to a new drop and test the psychological limit of $10,000.
Closing below the 100-day moving average could open the bitcoin's way to support line at $9,000. After the break of this level last time, the bitcoin marked five consecutive weeks of rise, which led it to a record high of $19,670.
Serious decline was recorded by other key cryptocurrencies, as the ripple, which declined again to a level of 1.20 dollars per coin after the momentary increase of over 1.60 at the end of last week.

Bitcoin balloon blowed?

The big topic of the last days is the incredible depreciation of the bitcion and the other crypto currencies. This has confirmed the question that many experts have asked over the past year - "is the bitcion a balloon?"
The bitcion fell about 50% after its historic peak at a level of over $19,000. Yesterday, the crypto currency dropped momentarily to nearly $9,000.
Will the bitcion ends up as one of the worst financial bubbles in history? This is yet to be seen ... Such a prediction has already been given by well-known experts such as Jamie Dimon and Warren Buffett. Will they be right?
